Jewelry Jam

I thought I would devote a post to some of the talented jewelry designers I know (and some I wish I new).

First up is Ebony Fleur, one of two incredible ladies behind Make Believe. Ebony has branched out on her own and is creating beautiful bold geometric pieces. Wilkosz & Way shot her look book recently and I was there to help with the styling logistics. Gorgeous Johanna Stickland modelled for it. Here are some of the shots. Make up by Alicja Wilkosz.

Next is Dara Humniski, one of the talented Loyal Loot Collective. Dara is a multi-talented artist, designer and all around amazing friend and human being. Dara started making jewelry last year and seems to have a natural knack for it (like everything she puts her hand to). Here are a few of my favourite pieces. She just launched a new website that showcases all of her work. Check it out here.

The next designer, Bjørg I don't know but wish I did! She has some truly unique and covet worthy pieces and a really haunting video look book.  I love love love the Odyssey collection which is featured below along with the video.

And last but not least is my friend Erin Ignacio who goes by John James in the professional world, is a talented artist and graphic designer on top of being a fantastical jewelry designer. I've been lucky to use many of her pieces for editorials and they truly steal the show every time. You can view all her work here. The shots below were part of her most recent look book and shot by Wilkosz & Way and modelled by Calgary's It girl Ania Boniecka.

Kaelen Ohm

Have you heard about Kaelen Ohm yet? She is an incredibly talented filmmaker, musician and model to boot! She was the force (writer, director and funding) behind the fashion film 'Heaven', which I was lucky enough to be a part of. It will be out on XXXX Magazine soon but for now here is a sneak peek on her gorgeous demo reel.

Diamond Rings

Finally, here are the images from the shoot we did with Diamond Rings. He is a magnificent subject to style and shoot. I hope to have the opportunity again.

Leith Clark

Leith Clark has been an inspiration to me ever since I picked up my first issue of Lula. Not only is she the founder and editor of the UK magazine, she styles 50% + of the magazine's editorials. She has also styled for Harper's Bazaar, Vogue and several Look Books. I love her whimsical and ladylike aesthetic. An added bonus is that she is a fellow Canadian!

Quiet and Beautiful

I love these photographs by Youngna Park. She has a eye for delicate colour and composition which I am always drawn to.

Pretty Ethereal

Here are the shots from a creative I did with fellow Moxamite Heather Saitz. Heather is an amazing portrait photographer and wonderful neighbour.

We shot this at the gorgeous building next door, the historic Lougheed House, former home of Alberta premier Peter Lougheed once upon a time. Now it is a landmark in the city and a lovely place to have brunch if you are in the neighborhood. A special thanks to Blane Hogue for allowing us to take over the place for the day.

The delicate jewelry is by Calgary designer Andrea Blais. Her website is currently under construction but you can check it out soon here.
